What is the best time to contact Shanthi Vihara?

The normal working hours are from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM for both weekdays and weekends. You can contact anytime except for the mid-day meal time which is from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Is there any mindfulness practice session who can participate?

We conduct weekend Mindfulness and meditation session on every Sundays at 6:00 PM. Anyone interested can join this session.

Is this place a meditation centre?

This is a Buddhist Monastery in which we hold Buddhist meditation and mindfulness practice sessions on a weekend basis as well.

Can anyone visit Shanthi Vihara?

Anyone regardless of their faith or ethnicity can visit the place. Buddhism is open to all of us.

What is the appropriate term for calling a Buddhist Monk?

You can call "Venerable" for elder monks and "Reverent" for young monks. We prefer to be called from one of those or alternatively, you can call by saying "Bhante" which means "Venerable Monk"

What time to visit Shanthi Vihara?

The ideal time to visit is between 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Please give us a call and inform us in advance to visit us as we might be away.

We recently moved from Sri Lanka with our family. Can Vihara help us in finding properties or accommodations??
